CRIMINAL CASES
CHARGES
Q. What’s the difference between a felony and a
misdemeanor?
A. A felony charge is much more serious. The
sentencing is usually longer and it can have long term effects
that are very serious.
ATTORNEYS
Q. Do I need an attorney?
A. In criminal matters, you may lose your liberty
and for that reason, you almost always need an attorney. It
should be someone with adequate experience to protect your
freedom. At BOREN, OLIVER and COFFEY you have a firm with more
than 55 years experience.
POLICE
Q. Should I talk to the police?
A. No!! Before you ever speak with the police or
give a statement, you should consult with your attorney. You
may say something that costs you your freedom.
BOND
Q. Should I bond out of jail?
A. Not always. Sometimes it is in your best
interest to stay in jail so that your attorney can demand a fast
and speedy trial.
FEES
Q. How much will it cost?
